Late one evening when I was ready for bed I received a frantic call from my own church pastor. He knows I sell offsite data and disaster recovery called SAFeDATA. He was in a panic. His computer had slowed down, and all he could think of was his church records going into oblivion. His computer loaded with all the pertainent church financials had just gotten into problems and he was not sure how to handle this crisis. He begged for a solution to the huge mess he was in. He explained how all the church attendance,tithes and offering records that he was to foreword bi-weekly had to be available at any time for audit by the Mother church and how he would seem less than capable as a new Minister by not having a backup plan. He was desperate! He was not very knowledgeable on computers.
My suggestions to him were as follows. After speaking with an engineer here at eVision I was able to offer suggestions as to how to get his computer working faster so then we would then be able to capture this data on this computer and the one at his home to ensure that a Data Loss Crises would be averted in the future.
